The Code Enforcement Division enforces the Property Maintenance Code of the State of Rhode Island. The intent of this code is to ensure that all residential premises in the city of Providence meet a minimum level of health and safety. The minimum code requirements apply to the following list of areas and are the responsibility of the owners, operators and/or occupants of existing residential and nonresidential structures in the City of Providence. Camp Ruggles is Rhode Island’s therapeutic summer day camp program for children ages 6-12, who are clinically diagnosed with emotional and behavioral disabilities. Our program is designed specifically for children with significant difficulties in these areas who cannot succeed in a regular camp environment.

Services at The Health Hut include: physical exams (including school and sports physicals), immunizations, sick visits, treatment of minor injuries, health education, chronic care management (i.e. asthma, diabetes), and dental services-including examinations and hygiene services. School-based health centers work closely with school personnel including principals, school nurse teachers, and student support staff. They do not take the place, or do the job of, the school nurse teacher. School-based health centers are helpful to parents because: It is often difficult to get time off of work to take a child to the doctor. Many families face transportation, language, or financial barriers in traditional health care settings. Adolescents often do not seek out health care because of embarrassment. Depending on the size and nature of the community, 211 systems may consist of only a few organizations that provide information and referral or may include a diverse array of organizations that furnish some type of I&R. Some of these organizations may supply a very specialized type of I&R service (e.g., for people with disabilities or older adults), while others may provide a comprehensive range of assistance. The coordination of all I&R services and programs within a community and, where relevant, beyond, constitutes the 211 system.
