EBCAP’s Food Pantries offer monthly food distribution to assist food insecure households. Individuals/families in need of food assistance may come to one of EBCAP’s three food pantries twice a month. When you arrive, our staff will help you select food that you/your family will enjoy. The amount of food you receive is based on your family size. It is helpful (but not required) to bring with you re-useable bags. The program provides: -Nutritious supplemental food at no cost to participants -Assistance to people with special dietary needs -Family advocates who assess additional needs of individuals/families and connect participants to other EBCAP community resources

Weatherization improves the energy efficiency of homes and apartments. The Weatherization crew checks for energy use, insulation, air leaks, and safety hazards. Then they perform cost-effective improvements, such as installing insulation, smoke detectors, or caulking. Appliance Management Program (AMP) AMP helps clients use less electricity and water. The program provides energy-saving lightbulbs, faucet aerators, and appliances. AMP is funded by National Grid. Heating System Replacement Program The Heating System Replacement Program repairs or replaces old, broken, or inefficient home heating systems. This program is available for owner-occupied buildings only.

CCAP’s Social Services Department administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for Cranston, Scituate and Foster with federal funding earmarked for the state of Rhode Island. LIHEAP is designed to help low-income clients meet the ever-increasing cost of home energy. Payments are made directly to vendors who then credit the client’s account for the amount specified. Eligible clients also qualify for a reduced electric rate as well as a discount on the client’s telephone bill. The Good Neighbor Energy Assistance Fund – The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is administered by United Way of Rhode Island. CCAP is proud to serve as partner and can assist residents in Cranston, Foster, and Scituate in need of utilities assistance throughout the winter months. The program generally runs from November through June. The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is available to any Rhode Islander who, because of financial difficulty, needs assistance paying a current energy expense and meets eligibility guidelines.

A private, nonsectarian, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization that supports individuals in their recovery from mental illness and co-occurring disorders (i.e., substance use, developmental disability, related chronic health conditions). Provides access to support and resources for individuals to lead self-determined, independent, and fulfilling lives as contributing members of the community. Assists people of all ages to improve their behavioral health, well-being, and quality of life. Licensed professionals conduct individual assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans. Individuals are seen by a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management, and individual and group therapy are available. The Kent Center Provides: behavioral health services ranging from emergency services, general and intensive community-based outpatient treatment, substance use treatment, and other services. They may offer vocational and supported employment services, navigators who can help you get health insurance, tax preparation assistance, and housing supports. If receiving services as a child, assistance with transition to adult services or programs are provided within or outside the agency. The Community Mental Health Centers are regionally based as indicated below. However, as a Rhode Island resident, you may access services at any CMHC. Anyone experiencing a crisis can walk into a Community Mental Health Center during their normal business hours and they will provide treatment. LogistiCare(LGTC) manages non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) for medical members. You can receive a ride to a medicaid-enrolled medical practitioner/provider. Community Care Alliance strives to empower people experiencing economic insecurity, mental illness and addiction, housing issues, and trauma-related concerns. They provide clinical and support services for individuals and families with long-term needs associated with mental illness and substance abuse. Their goal is to help people live as independently and as fully integrated within the community as possible These might include basic needs assistance to address emergencies— counseling, treatment, support services and residential programs for individuals and families impacted by serious mental illness and addiction— emergency and supportive housing to prevent homelessness and promote stabilization— alternative education and services for families with young children and adolescents— and employment, financial literacy and vocational training to improve self-sufficiency.

Scandinavian Assisted Living allows residents to have assistance with daily tasks, housekeeping, maintenance, and transportation to medical appointments, while maintaining independence.
