South County Health offers The Patient Financial Advocacy Program to reach patients with payment and financial support options at the time of registration. The office is located at the Emergency Room entrance and is open daily. The office provides hospital care without charge to uninsured Rhode Island residents who meet income guidelines.
Hospital charity care requirements cover those essential services necessary to diagnose, correct, or cure a medical condition that endangers life, causes pain and suffering, results in illness or infirmity, or causes a physical deformity or malfunction. Both inpatient and outpatient services are included.
To receive full charity care, patients annual family income must be up to and including 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. For partial charity care, patients annual family income must be between 200% and 300% of the Federal Poverty Level may receive assistance based on a sliding scale. In addition to income, hospitals have the option to consider other assets. Also must be denied from Medicaid first depending on income. Patients who get accepted will receive financial aid for a year.

This is an open English language meeting concentrating on the steps, tools, and books of DA, especially as they relate to under-earning and overspending. The location is not handicap accessible.

Postal Services: The Westerly Senior Citizens Center has a contract postal unit at the front desk of the Center to meet all of your postal needs which include: the sale of stamps (all denominations) post cards, stamped envelopes, mailers, money orders, checking of parcel weight, insurance of parcels, return receipt material, etc.
