The NIT Office of Social Service Programs (OSSP) provides eligible Tribal Members who reside within our established service area, with access to social service programs including: General Assistance, Child Welfare Services, payment assistance with Burial expenses, payment assistance with Housing (rental, relocation, mortgage), Food and Clothing vouchers, Weatherization/Cooling/Heat, and payment assistance with Utilities, Emergency Hardship, and Family/Community Services.

Hopkins Manor, Ltd. is a 200-bed skilled nursing facility providing traditional nursing home care as well as sub-acute rehabilitation, hospice, respite and alzheimer’s care. They can accommodate both long and short term placement and resident admissions are facilitated seven days a week. Treatment programs integrate nursing, dietary, activities and other disciplines to promote recovery of functional skills. The Rhode Island Pharmaceutical Assistance to Elders (RIPAE) Program pays a portion of the cost of RIPAE-approved medications purchased during the Deductible stage of a Part D plan. There are four levels to this program; levels 1-3 are for older adults 65+ and older, and level 4 is for adults 55-64 who are disabled.
