Big Picture Learning was established with the sole mission of putting students directly at the center of their own learning. BPL co-founders Dennis Littky and Elliot Washor merged their thirty years of experience as teachers and principals and their distinct national reputations to launch this new innovation in education. Assisted Daily Living, Inc. provides clients with a wide array of services designed to ensure superior patient care in the familiar comfort of home, often providing a happier and more affordable alternative to nursing, or assisted living facilities. Services can be arranged for a few hours a week or around the clock. ADL begins by reviewing the specific needs of the client through discussions with family members, as well as the care recipient's doctor, social workers or therapists. A customized program of care is developed to manage the client's daily needs. ADL will match the clients needs to the best possible caregiver, based on both professional experience and on ability characteristics. THERAPIST'S - PT, OT, ST: Therapists including physical therapists, occupational and speech therapists assist in the rehabilitation of those with physical injuries or disease. Restoration of mobility, strength, dexterity, balance and communication skills is often the purpose for therapy. Helping individuals who are disabled by physical injuries or disease to regain maximum function with activities of daily living is always a main priority.

Charlestown Animal Control is a municipally run shelter, finding homes for strays and abandoned animals in the Charlestown area.

Medicare is managed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Social Security works with CMS by enrolling people in Medicare. Medicare is the country’s health insurance program for people age 65 or older. Certain people younger than age 65 can qualify for Medicare, too, including those with disabilities and those who have permanent kidney failure.

The Bridge at Cherry Hill offers the care and support needed by seniors who are unable to live alone yet do not require the services of skilled nursing. Resort-style community provides private apartments for residents and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing and medication management.

HabitatPVD is offering a program to help older adults live in their homes longer. Program highlights include: A free comprehensive health, safety and home performance assessment. A free basic package of aging-in-place modifications and repairs valued at almost $500 (grab rails, lighting, light-touch painting, cleaning and more). Linking to other available home repair programs and funds and referrals to other services in the area as needed. Connecting to volunteer opportunities. Access to apply for zero percent interest loan for more costly measures.
