Provides occasional seminars on topics such as Self-Advocacy and other topics of interest are offered in an informal group setting. In addition to the above services, our Deaf Services Coordinator collaborates with other OSCIL staff to provide assistance with other OSCIL services to individuals and other service providers. Lunch and Learn Workshops happens every month on last Wednesday from 12PM to 2PM. Currently available through zoom, in-person option would vary on need and availability.

Residential school for boys, grades seven through twelve. Offering a full high school diploma, the school is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Our student body is comprised of Ocean Tides residential students and students referred by their school district for education purposes (both regular and special education). Each candidate is screened by the Director of Special Education and the Principal before admittance to ensure the student is ready and willing to enter the program. Given the severe educational difficulties these students have experienced in the past, Ocean Tides seeks to provide creative, individualized programs that meet the needs of all in our care. We provide: Positive behavior program and multiple positive behavioral supports, including stipends paid to students. This is an open English language meeting concentrating on the steps, tools, and books of DA, especially as they relate to under-earning and overspending. The location is not handicap accessible. The Joy of Solvency Monday: 7:00PM - 8:00PM St. Luke's Episcopal Church 99 Pierce Street Enter from the parking lot in back. During the summer the group meets on the first floor just before the stairwell. During the winter the group meets on the second floor in the first room to the right at the top of the stairs. This is an open English language meeting focusing on book study, the 12 Steps, and visions. The location is not handicap accessible. Serenity Precedes Prosperity Tuesday: 7:30- 8:45 PM The Sarah Doyle Center 26 Benevolent Street The Sarah Doyle Center is on the Brown University campus. Group meets in Room 204 on the Second Floor. Focus on compulsive debting as it relates to under-earning. This is an open English language meeting.
