West Bay Collaborative assists students in the areas of Work-Preparation, Self-Discovery, Career Exploration, Job Development, Job Placement, Job Coaching, and Vocational Assessment and Evaluation. West Bay Collaborative Transition & Vocational Services is a group of unique educational and vocational programs serving youth ages 16+ in the Rhode Island community. The program supports youth, families, schools, and community agencies in the transition process via career exploration, vocational evaluation and employment services. Their mission is to provide quality, innovative, and individualized programs and resources to guide and support young people from school to successful adult living.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Feeding and Nutrition Program provides food vouchers, allowing them to purchase milk, eggs, cheese, juice and iron fortified cereals and formula. The WIC coordinator provides nutrition education and counseling to all program participants on a monthly basis.

A resource center for children, families and caregivers struggling with Epilepsy on a daily basis. To provide funding for Epilepsy research, education, awareness and scholarships for children with Epilepsy. The resource center awards scholarships to high school seniors, a week long camp, research, lecture series, hospital presentations and special events for epilepsy. Offers support and outreach to families affected by epilepsy throughout Rhode Island. Provides Information, advocacy, and education in a variety of ways, including:

• Parent Coordinator: an informed understanding advocate who is available to offer support, answer questions, and help families connect with other families living with epilepsy.

• Family Support Group: a monthly, Discovering M.E. (My Epilepsy), designed to give children who have seizures, along with their parents and sibling, a supportive and fun setting to for helping each other understand the many life changes associated with epilepsy.

• Educational Coordinator: promotes epilepsy awareness and education, including school programs and specialized workshops for school nurses and teachers which focus on identifying seizure activity, understanding how seizures affect learning, and teaching safety protocol to follow when a child has a seizure at school.

• Camp Matty: a week long therapeutic horseback riding summer day camp for children with epilepsy.

The Watershed Council is directly involved in monitoring three sites on the lower river. The water quality of many of the lakes and ponds in the upper part of the watershed is also monitored under the URI Watershed Watch program by volunteers not associated with Watershed Council. The data for all of the Watershed Watch sites are available on the Watershed Watch web site. The sites monitored by Watershed Council volunteers are: Greystone Mill Pond, Johnston/North Providence; Rising Sun Dam, near Donigian Park, Providence; Waterplace Park, Providence. Volunteers measure: Dissolved Oxygen; Water Temperature; Weather; Salinity; Bacteria; Nutrients

Provides free, voluntary, confidential home visits to pregnant women and families with young children, birth to age three. Trained nurses, social workers, and community health workers meet with families in their homes to talk about their needs, answer questions they may have, and conduct comprehensive assessments. Home visits are based on the needs of the family. Visit topics may include health education and connections with appropriate healthcare services, human services, and community resources. If a child does not have a medical home, we can help the family find one.

Transvan, our daily transportation system for 60+ and/or disabled Cranston residents is available to provide transportation anywhere in Cranston, Monday through Friday. FACE of Rhode Island is a State of Rhode Island SGO or Scholarship Granting Organization that allows corporations to take tax contributions that will directly benefit the children of Rhode Island families who otherwise would not be able to afford a Catholic education. An SGO is a state approved not-for-profit that collects and distributes corporate tax credit contributions from businesses. The contributions are then used to help economically challenged families choose a Catholic school education for their child.
