Skills training is available to persons with disabilities in almost any topic where there is a need for more independence. CILs work with individuals to increase their skills which can help them gain more control of their lives. Skills training can include basic everyday responsibilities such as: self-care, meal preparation, budgeting, and arranging transportation. It also can address housing needs, teaching individuals the importance of self-advocacy, one’s need for accommodations and/or rights in the community. ***Life skills training is goal directed and does not involve long-term case management or therapeutic intervention. As part of OSCIL’s mission to provide outreach, education and opportunities for peer support, OSCIL offers Lunch and Learn workshops highlighting various solutions that can increase access in your home and community. Acute Stabilization Unit The ASU, as we call it, provides short term, residential services for the person who is having a mental health and/or substance abuse emergency, but who does not need hospitalization. Intensive Outpatient Program Successful independence is the goal of our recovery-focused Intensive Outpatient Program for those with co-occurring disorders. You’ll get care and guidance from our skilled counselors in a safe, supportive setting. Opioid Treatment Center of Excellence We believe that treatment works. Meet with a Peer Specialist who will walk you through the steps to getting help with opioid addiction. Outpatient Counseling Services Counseling is provided in an office-setting for addictions, including problem gambling. DUI Court Ordered Treatment is also available through our Outpatient Counseling program. Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Our new Rise to Recovery PHP program helps individuals and family members recover from the negative consequences and life issues associated with substance use and addiction. Residential Substance Use Treatment Treatment and around-the-clock support provides men with the opportunity to focus on their recovery from chemical dependency. Our supportive services can become a part of your safety net after discharge as well. Recovery Housing Sober housing and support services are available who have recently completed a residential treatment program to help them along the road to recovery. Hospital charity care requirements cover those essential services necessary to diagnose, correct, or cure a medical condition that endangers life, causes pain and suffering, results in illness or infirmity, or causes a physical deformity or malfunction. Both inpatient and outpatient services are included. To receive full charity care, patients annual family income must be up to and including 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. For partial charity care, patients annual family income must be between 200% and 300% of the Federal Poverty Level may receive assistance based on a sliding scale. In addition to income, hospitals have the option to consider other assets. Also must be denied from Medicaid first depending on income. Patients who get accepted will receive financial aid for a year. For patients who feel that an application or appeal was wrongfully denied should call the RI Dept. of Health info line 222-5960. Families are able to have supervised visits in a home-like setting while receiving support in their recovery. The program provides for: Supervised Visits - Visits in a home environment with a focus on everyday family activities. Clinical Oversight - consultation and assessment, observation and clinical work around visits, assistance with coordination of supports and help with parenting skill building. Family Recovery Coaching - support with the recovery process, information and resource connections and help navigating the child welfare system.
