The therapists create an extremely supportive relationship and help individuals to understand and change links between problematic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapists help couples work through issues including communication, sex, and affairs.

Grief and bereavement support groups are held at various times and locations throughout the year to support individuals and families who have lost a loved one. Coming together with others to share similar feelings and thoughts is beneficial to the grieving process. The support groups are a 6-session series led by the hospice chaplain, who teaches healing and coping strategies. Other programs offered for families and friends who have lost a loved one include: Circle of Love and Light held in the first week of December. Annual Interfaith Service, held each spring.

SHIP Counseling

A Federal nutrition program for low income seniors ages 60 and over designed to improve health by supplementing their diet with nutritious USDA foods. This location is a distribution site for the program. Participating seniors will receive one box of supplemental food per month. Food package includes: cereal, fruit juice, protein items, shelf stable milk, peanut butter, pasta, cheese, and canned fruits and vegetables

A written exam is required for applicants who possess an out-of-state 33-hour certificate and can only be processed in Pawtucket (Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm). Blackstone Valley Arc group homes provide 24-hour supports in a home setting of three to five individuals. Staff assists with adult daily living skills, household chores, budgeting money, medical appointments and social and recreational activities. Group living arrangements offer the best opportunity to receive maximum support and resources. Agency supports many individuals in their own apartments, either on their own or with a roommate. A wide variety of services are provided including training on budgeting, paying bills, shopping, medical appointments, cooking, home maintenance and transportation issues as well as other needs as necessary.

East Greenwich Emergency Management implements policies related to hazard mitigation and emergency management programs and activities. The EMA also has general supervision of all civil preparedness duties and performs any other duties as assigned by the Town Manager.
