Support and advocacy for the blind. Monthly meetings focus mainly on advocacy activities such as legislative and public policy development and public education. However, peer support for individuals is available and provided as needed. Purpose of the group is to foster positive attitudes towards blindness for both the blind and sighted communities. Chapters The Greater Providence Chapter of the NFB of RI meets on the second Saturday of each month, except for the months of July and October from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and they are preceded by a social half hour at 10 Office Parkway, in East Providence. For more information, please contact the Greater Providence Chapter. The Mount Hope Chapter of the NFB of RI meets on the third Thursday of each month, except for October and December from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, preceded by a social half hour. Meetings are held at the Rogers Free Library, located at 525 Hope Street, in Bristol. Those using the Ride program should ask to be dropped off and picked up at the Thames Street entrance, located in the back of the building. The Center has an active tissue typing laboratory which supports bone marrow transplantation and parentage testing. The Rhode Island Blood Center is a donor center for the National Marrow Donor Program and has an active Pheresis Program.

Pawtucket Center is tucked in the Darlington neighborhood of Pawtucket, RI. We offer a variety of services including Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies to meet the needs of our ShortStay Rehabilitation patients and LongTerm Care residents. Our designated Transitional Care Unit (TCU) has private rooms available for those with special needs and/or simply for private accommodations. Burrillville Animal Control Shelter returns stray animals to their owners, places unclaimed animals in homes, enforces local animal control ordinances and state animal care regulations, educates and provides referrals to the public, and assists residents in advertising pets needing new homes via the internet.

Located on the first floor of the Cranston Senior Enrichment Center, the Arlington Branch, formerly named both the Arlington Library and the Arlington Reading Room, was initially founded in the neighborhood district hall with a collection of 500 volumes. Currently, the branch is a popular stop for both pedestrians in the Arlington neighborhood and those visiting the Senior Enrichment Center. The branch was dedicated to the memory of former library trustee Edward Costa in 2018 and renamed the Edward Costa Memorial Arlington Branch.

The Domestic Violence Resource Center of South County works toward a future free from violence. They work collaboratively to offer safety, support, advocacy, education and a network of services to residents of Washington County. DVRCSC has a confidential safe home for women who face homelessness as a result of domestic violence. Additional services include a Drop-In Advocacy Center, Support Groups and One-on-One Counseling by appointment. They offer education and outreach on the subject of healthy relationships, dating violence, cyber stalking and techno-abuse. DVRCSC can provide Court Advocates at McGrath Judicial Complex in Wakefield.
