Sparrows Point III Apartments-a project based Section 8 Development designed for the Elderly (62 years of age and older) and/or person with disabilities under 62 years of age. The community consists of (176 apts.) 157 one bedroom and 19 two bedroom apartments and is smoke free.

Refugee Resettlement Services: In affiliation with Migration & Refugee Services (MRS) of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), staff provides refugee resettlement services. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Providence has been collaborating with the USCCB/MRS for nearly 30 years in their humanitarian mission of the resettlement of refugees in the United States. This program is appropriate for anyone in need of immigration services and refugee resettlement casework and is available in multiple languages including: English, Spanish, French, Tigrini and Amharic. The application process varies depending on the immigration status of the individual and application guidelines vary depending on the immigration status. There are fees required by the Department of Homeland Security. In addition, the diocesan office has a fee schedule for the services provided. The financial situation of the client is considered; fees are based on the individual’s income, and payment plans are available.

The FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center, or IC3, is the reporting mechanism to submit complaints regarding cyber crimes to the FBI. Information is analyzed and disseminated for investigative and intelligence purposes to law enforcement and for public awareness. The IC3 accepts online Internet crime complaints from either the actual victim or from a third party to the complainant.

Heritage Village includes three buildings for seniors and six for families. All of the apartments have Section 8 rental assistance which allows each household to predictably pay 30% of its income for rent because the rental subsidies are ‘project-based’ meaning they accompany the property rather than a current resident guaranteeing the subsidy’s availability for future households. Elder Case Management provides assessment, monitoring, and protective services for seniors. Case managers oversee the development and implementation of client-specific care plans. They can help clients maintain independence through home and community services. These services are state-subsidized through the RI Division of Elderly Affairs’ Home and Community Care Programs.

The Public Utilities Commission comprises two distinct regulatory bodies: a three-member Commission (Commission) and the Division of Public Utilities and Carriers (Division). Although two distinct regulatory bodies, the Commission and Division generally operate in concert. This is evidenced by the Division’s status as an indispensable party in all Commission proceedings, and the Division’s statutory charge to enforce all directives of the Commission. Both entities may conduct inquiries, investigations and hearings to effectuate their respective duties. Both may issue orders that have the force and effect of law. The Division is also legislatively required to maintain a website in accordance with RIGL section 39-1-18. The Division makes every effort to insure that this legislative mandate is carried out. Overnight shelter, dental services, food pantry, clothing room, and meal programs. **Overnight Shelter Provides emergency, overnight shelter for 75 to 90 homeless men and 15 to 30 homeless women, seven nights a week. Each overnight guest has the ability to take a hot shower, eat a hot dinner, sleep in a clean bed, and have breakfast in the morning. **Food & Clothing We operate an emergency food pantry and a clothing room. Individuals and families use these services on a daily basis. We distribute approximately 16,000 lbs. of food and 5,000 articles of clothing each month. **Meal Programs Our meal programs provide approximately 6,000 hot meals a month to the needy in our community as well as 1,700 box lunches to the children. In addition to our feeding ministry, we do special events during the holidays. This past Thanksgiving we provided Thanksgiving food boxes for 1,600 families in the Providence area. Each box contained 20 pounds of non-perishable food and a 20 pound turkey. At Christmastime, we provided 9,300 gifts to over 3,100 needy families through our Christmas Toy Ministry. **Dental Offices In a phrase - state-of-the-art. The Providence Rescue Mission features a full service dental office that helps Individuals start a new life with a smile they can proud of. Our office features x-ray, full cleaning, and other dental services. Local dentists and staff see patients by appointment only. **Discipleship Program We run a one-year discipleship program that allows 10 to 15 homeless men with, but not limited to, substance abuse issues to start a new life by combining biblical values, counseling, education and career training and reunification with their families. This program is at capacity most of the time.

Part of Community Care Alliance, the Agape Center is a community based HIV/AIDS support and resource center whose mission is to provide services, resources, and advocacy for persons living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to promote community awareness and prevention of the disease. Their Agape Drop-In Center provides resources in a safe, confidential setting where people living with HIV/AIDS are treated with dignity and respect. Services: HIV and Hepatitis C testing (by appointment) Lunches are served Monday and Wednesday, 12-1 PM Weekly Food Pantry Monthly Personal Care, Cleaning and Household Items Case Management services, in English and Spanish Support and resources Eligibility: Clients must be HIV+ and live in Rhode Island.

Provides advocacy in court for the best interests of children who are the victims of abuse and/or neglect and are therefore involved with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) and the Rhode Island Family Court. Staff includes attorney, guardians ad litem and Social Caseworkers. Program also trains volunteers to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Fort Wetherill State Park, situated upon 100 foot high granite cliffs across the water from Fort Adams State Park, is a former coastal defense battery and training camp. Known for its spectacular view of Newport Harbor and the East Passage of Narragansett Bay, Fort Wetherill has been a popular sight for viewing the numerous Tall Ship Events and America’s Cup Races. The area is also a major attraction for scuba diving, with Diving Clubs from New York State, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island using the facilities at the boat ramp year round. Additionally, the park offers family and group picnicking, boating, fishing, hiking and exploring on the park’s 61.5 acres of property.
