The Rhode Island Jump$tart Coalition is a coalition of Rhode Island organizations, businesses, educators, individuals and other stakeholders dedicated to improving the financial capability of the region’s residents, including under-served populations. We seek to improve personal financial knowledge and skills so that individuals may be empowered to employ responsible personal financial practices that can lead to lifelong financial security and fulfillment. Rhode Island Jump$tart Coalition carries out its mission by: Convening forums where partners and other stakeholders can network, exchange ideas, promote efforts and form alliances; Sharing and promoting best practices in financial capability programs; Creating, planning, executing and securing funds for valuable initiatives; Promoting trusted programs, educational resources, and when possible, providing funds to target population program providers; and Increasing awareness among policy-makers, civic leaders, and other people of influence about the need for and benefits of increased personal financial capability in Rhode Island and beyond.

Must bring proof of income, rent and utility receipts, ID. Rental, fuel and utility assistance in emergencies only. Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. Medication in crisis situation. And for your safety, all of the sessions are completely contactless. You can be coached right from your home! We offer several different types of financial coaching program options to ensure you get the services that you need. Financial Coaching Plus: Their individualized Financial Coaching PLUS is a year-long relationship with your very own trained, expert Financial Coach. During your sessions, you will create a personal finance action plan. You’ll even learn how to take care of your health in an affordable way. We will work with you to accomplish your goals , whether you want to get out of debt, save for college, or simply learn how to manage your money more effectively. Participants make 12 monthly payments of $15, which we will be reported to all three credit bureaus as a 0% loan. The goal is to improve your credit score with each on-time, monthly payment. Credit Builder Program: Their Credit Builder Program is a great way to increase your credit score! Participants make 12 monthly payments of $5, which we will report to all three credit bureaus as a 0% loan. The goal is to improve your credit score with each on-time, monthly payment. Financial Coaching Hotline: They launched this Hotline to provide immediate support to individuals who are in a financial emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and need immediate answers. People who have been laid off, who aren’t sure how to navigate unemployment, who may not know how to bridge the gap until they start receiving unemployment checks, are all encouraged to call during their extended hours or video conference via Zoom. Financial Coaching Crash Course: We are offering a Crash Course version of our coaching program for those impacted by COVID-19. This program is consolidated into a 3-month version of our normal, yearlong program with the same credit builder loan component. Participants make 12 monthly payments of $5, which we will be reported to all three credit bureaus as a 0% loan. The goal is to improve your credit score with each on-time, monthly payment.
