Provides access to supports and resources for individuals to lead self-determined, independent, and fulfilling lives as contributing members of the community. Assists people of all ages to improve their behavioral health, well-being, and quality of life. Licensed professionals conduct individual assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans. Individuals are seen by a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication management, and individual and group therapy are available. Community Care Alliance- Community Mental Health Center: provides behavioral health services ranging from emergency services, general and intensive community-based outpatient treatment, substance use treatment, and other services. They may offer vocational and supported employment services, navigators who can help you get health insurance, tax preparation assistance, and housing supports. If receiving services as a child, assistance with transition to adult services or programs are provided within or outside the agency. The Community Mental Health Centers are regionally based as indicated below. However, as a Rhode Island resident, you may access services at any CMHC. Anyone experiencing a crisis can walk into a Community Mental Health Center during their normal business hours and they will provide treatment. During this crucial stage of a child’s growth and development, the Seven Hills EI professionals work with families as a team to help them help their children where they learn best: at home and in community settings. Seven Hills EI program partners each family with a Service Coordinator who works with a team to assess the child’s development based on medical history, observation of the child performing a daily routine, and learning about the child’s likes, dislikes, successes, and difficulties. If the child is eligible for EI, the team will work with the family to develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), to develop priorities, goals and outcomes. The Seven Hills professionals make it as convenient as possible for families to schedule their EI visits in the child’s natural environment—at home, in a child care setting, or during a community activity. The family’s multidisciplinary EI team may include educators, therapists, social workers, and nutritionists. Parent Consultants (PCs)—parents whose children have been through the EI program—are also available to share resources, offer support, and facilitate networking.

Higher Ground International is a forward thinking and culturally grounded inter-generational social service NGO that advocates and provides programs for West African Immigrants, Refugees and Marginalized Communities in Rhode Island and Rural Villages in Liberia, West Africa. Located on the South side of Providence, Rhode Island, HGI's vibrant and welcoming RUKIYA CENTER provides members of the West African Immigrants and Refugees community with elder services (Sweetie Care, African Elders Enrichment Program), Soft skills pre-employment and workforce development, literacy classes for women, basic computer and design classes, therapeutic arts, cultural enrichment, advocacy, case management, immigration & citizenship classesand other wraparound services for youth and families. HGI’s for-profit arm, Broken Pieces International, engages adults, at-risk youth and other under-served populations in the design and manufacture of clothing and accessories that reflect the character and community of both HGI and the West African diaspora. This provides them with vital job training and economic opportunities, and the revenue generated supports HGI’s work in Liberia. This innovative model fosters important connections to the culture and history of the mother country for Liberians living abroad, and reinforces HGI’s mission to uplift communities through empowerment and self-sustainability.

Shower to Empower links basic needs such as complimentary showers and haircuts with case management and medical navigation services in a mobile delivery model. It is aimed to provide basic needs and restore dignity to Rhode Island’s experiencing homelessness, ultimately making connections to essential services. The unit is a customized 20’ x 8.3’ trailer that includes two individual showers, heated floors, an area for case management, and an enclosed private medical space. The mobile unit travels throughout Providence alongside House of Hope CDC’s street outreach team providing hot showers, haircuts, case management, and medical navigation services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

CCAP EMERGENCY HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM – Assists individuals/families living in Cranston, Coventry, Scituate and Foster with back rent, security deposits, mortgage assistance, late fees associated with back rent or mortgage, moving costs and utilities. Funding is limited.
