Established in 1874, the Rhode Island Pharmacists Association (RIPA) has a rich history and is one of the oldest state pharmacist associations in the country. The purpose of RIPA is to unite all pharmacists of the state for professional development and advancement.

An important part of the Providence Art Club's mission is the preservation of four historic buildings. From the early years of the organization's existence, these properties have been the face of the Club to the public and the pulsating hub of the members activities. Together, the four buildings symbolize art and culture, history and architecture, all characteristics that define our Club as well as our home city.

Licensed by the RI Department of Education as a year round out-of-district special education school for grades K-12. Students may enroll as day students or, if they meet special education criteria, may be enrolled through the St. Mary’s residential program. The summer program component prevents students from regressing in social, emotional and academic progress by actively engaging students in credit recovery and supportive learning programs. If evaluations to assist with meeting special education requirements or determining if out-of-district placement are necessary, the Camous School offers a 45-day assessment program as well. The Bristol Division of Emergency Management Services implements policies related to hazard mitigation and emergency management programs and activities. The EMA also has general supervision of all civil preparedness duties. Shelter Locations Bristol Emergency Shelters are located at the Quinta-Gamelin Community Center on Asylum Rd. and Mt. Hope High School on Chestnut St.. During emergencies the public will be notified of the primary shelter for the event occurring at that time.

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals. As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues and treating medical cases.

Purpose: To understand when and where influenza activity is occurring, to monitor influenza-related illness, outbreaks, hospitalizations, and deaths, and to determine circulating and emerging influenza virus strains. Key Information: Geographic spread and activity level of influenza in the state, laboratory test results, and influenza-related hospitalizations and deaths. Influenza-like-illness (ILI) is defined as patients with a fever over 100°F with cough and/or sore throat (unless there is a known cause other than the flu). Collection Period: Data is collected and analyzed weekly throughout the flu season from October to May. How data are collected The Department of Health has a number of methods for gathering data. This includes gathering reports on the number of patients with influenza-like illness (ILI) from a sample of sentinel physicians and collecting data from hospitals throughout the state. The services of the State Health Laboratory are used to determine the circulating strains of influenza. Additionally, a staff of epidemiologists work with CDC guidance to determine flu activity levels.

The Rhode Island Historical Society is a privately endowed membership organization, dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the history of Rhode Island.

Approve or deny changes in ownership, control or leases of healthcare facilities including: hospitals, nursing homes, organized ambulatory care facilities, outpatient kidney dialysis facilities, outpatient hospice care facilities, freestanding emergency care facilities, home health care providers.

Services: Residential support in group homes and apartments; health and life education; behavior management; Independent Living Program; family support. Serving people, 21+ with physical/developmental needs. Provides a home-like environment wherein the resident is challenged to discover her/his own unique dignity and worth. Emphasizes consistent and individualized programming to encourage each resident to develop to his/her greatest potential and to have as much control over their own lives as they are capable of having. Support also supplied to persons living in their own homes, apartments or their family home.

Lawn School is a public school for students in grades 5-8. Jamestown School Department provides a rigorous, standards based curriculum with a balanced literacy program, real-world mathematics, hands-on science and civics education preparing students for 21st century learning. Jamestown schools have adopted computer science, coding and science, technology, engineering, arts & mathematics (S.T.E.A.M) based opportunities as key components of the curriculum. Currently both schools in the district have a fully furnished makerspace lab with 3-d printers, green screens and Edison robots.

Helps children and families to cope with life altering and/or terminal illness. "Chow Fun Food Group" oversees the Elkhay Foundation, founded in 2000 in memory of John and Suzanne Elkhay's son, Ross.

Peer support in a non-structured environment where mental health consumers can stop by to relax, socialize and help develop whatever services and programs they want. Activities run as members feel appropriate. Mental health referral services available. The Oasis Advocacy & Social Center is consumer-run.
