PACE Organization of Rhode Island is a not-for-profit health plan that offers services for qualifying adults age 55 and older. These older adults all have complex health needs but want to remain at home. As the insurer, provider, and coordinator of health care and wellness, PACE-RI tailors care plans to meet each participant’s individual needs through a range of service offerings. These services can be delivered in the home, at our health clinics and day centers, and beyond, providing great peace of mind for participants and their caregivers. Since 2005, PACE-RI has served more than 2,000 participants and their families across Rhode Island. The MME counselors provide person-centered options counseling to Medicare-Medicaid individuals to ensure that they receive clear, unbiased, and consumer friendly information and one-on-one counseling to help them make informed decisions about options they have for receiving their Medicare and Medicaid benefits. They also help with the enrollment or dis-enrollment process as needed.

MAE offers case management to those individuals that need help navigating the system and other programs. The Groden Center Early Intervention Program (EIP) is for infants and toddlers with developmental concerns. Home Visits – One to two per week to help families promote communication skills, positive social interactions and emotional development and to help manage behavioral difficulties. Structured Playgroups – Small groups (average ratio of 3 professionals to 5 children) to develop skills in communication, attending, imitation, social interaction and play. Parent Education and Support– Parent groups meet each time a child attends a playgroup. In addition, parent education groups may be scheduled to address specific topics of interest to families. Community Education – EI staff work with families and children in natural environments in the community on an individual basis or with small groups during community outings. Consultation – EIP staff also provide consultation to day care centers or other programs as requested.

Problem Gambling Services of Rhode Island (PGSRI) offers programs and supports to individuals with gambling disorders. Funded by the Rhode Island Lottery and coordinated by CODAC, PGSRI provide individual assessment and referral to multiple providers throughout the state, including CODAC’s sites. For clients who are un- or underinsured, funding for 100% of treatment is provided through the RI Lottery. It is CODAC’s standard practice to screen all patients for disordered gambling. When we identify a patient as being a current or potential disordered gambler we offer them an assessment and referral to one of CODAC’s on-site specialists for individual counseling treatment. All CODAC clinicians have attended at least two trainings on the disorder. They also receive ongoing supervision and consultation from a Certified Gambling Addiction Specialist prior to delivering services.

The goal of the Weatherization Assistance Program is to improve energy efficiency for income-eligible households while assuring health and safety. Our energy auditors, who are BPI certified, will evaluate the home/apartment to determine what can be done to improve heating and cooling efficiencies. The energy conservation resulting from these efforts helps reduce dependency on foreign oil and decreases the cost of energy for consumers while improving the health and safety of their homes.
