Amos House distributes more than 15,000 individual hygiene packets to men, women, and families each year

PCA Program OSCIL’s Personal Care Attendant (PCA) program provides an alternative for persons with disability who are at risk of nursing home placement and in need of personal care attendant services, but are unable to access the traditional RI Medicaid Assistant Program. Eligible participants must be unable to acquire these services through other PCA programs and meet this criteria: they are significantly physically disabled assessed as needing services in order to maintain independence are capable of managing their attendants found to be eligible by all other program guidelines. This program is designed to allow consumers maintain their independence within their home.

The Northern Rhode Island Collaborative (NRIC) is a non-profit educational service center committed to providing special education programs and educational services to partner school districts and community partners throughout northern Rhode Island. Foundations Academy (formerly the Regional Alternative Program): Provides special needs students - diagnosed with behavioral and emotional disorders - with an alternative to traditional schools. Foundations Academy (formerly the Specialized Alternative Program): Students who learn differently and have different abilities need the help and guidance of educators who are specially trained to develop and maximize those abilities. Educators in the Foundations Academy work to identify a student’s skills and their potential for learning new skills. Educators, parents and students then develop a progressive plan tailored to an individual’s educational needs and social well-being.

NRS’ Home Free Program, in collaboration with Greyhound Lines, Inc., helps runaway, homeless, and exploited youth return home safely or get to a safe and stable place to stay where they can receive appropriate services. For youth ages 18 to 21, options include returning home or traveling to an approved ALA, such as confirmed residential services housing, including a transitional or independent living program willing to accept them. Youth who were formerly in the child welfare system have the option to travel to a prior adult caregiver.

CrossRoads RI's Harold Lewis House is designed to provide elder individuals with a safe, secure, and affordable place to live. Harold Lewis House offers 14 beds of permanent supportive housing for disabled adults aged 50 and over who are homeless.

Activities run as members feel appropriate. Mental health referral services available. The Oasis Advocacy & Social Center is consumer-run. MHCA/Oasis has been in RI since 1985 (formerly known as CCSA).

Westbay Community Action is a charitable organization serving the people of Kent County. They help with food, utilities, health, safety, and education. Their mission is to empower and mobilize people through programs, partnerships, and advocacy to gain greater self-sufficiency. Individuals and families gain stability through basic needs assistance. They improve their circumstances with education, life-skills training, and case management.

We also provide help to families in need of guidance or support due to a loved one’s drug or alcohol problem. These problems can affect their everyday lives and also the lives of their families and loved ones. Rhode Island has one of the highest percentages of illicit drug, marijuana and alcohol use in the country. Therefore, this ministry also provides resource information, workshops, and education to the public in collaboration with other faith-based groups and recovery organizations

The Ocean Tides School Providence Campus is an alternative day school for students in grades seven through twelve. Offering a full high school Rhode Island Regents diploma, the school is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) and accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Additionally, the Providence Campus offers a certified special education program and a career/technical education program. The student body at the Providence Campus is comprised of students referred by their school district for educational purposes (both regular and special education) and career/technical training. Each candidate is screened by the Director of Special Education and the Principal before admittance to ensure the student is ready and willing to enter the program. Given the severe educational difficulties these students have experienced in the past, Ocean Tides seeks to provide creative, individualized programs that meet the needs of all students. Weekly formal individual counseling sessions, regular family sessions, and easy availability to support the day to day concerns of a young man are part of the work of each residential counselor.
