Patient travel resources for help with free medical air transportation. If a patient travel distance is 1000 miles or less, the services of a volunteer pilot organization flying for public benefit will be the referral. These organizations provide no-cost private or corporate aircraft travel for the patient and accompanying family member(s). Often a patient is flown to treatment location one day and then brought back home the next day to a week or two later.
