MAE has staff and volunteers that spend time with people who live on the street, build relationships with them, identify and address their immediate needs (e.g., crisis intervention, food, clean clothing, hygiene kits, blankets, someone to listen) and provide information about and linkage to longer-term forms of support such as shelter, counseling, drug and alcohol detoxification and rehabilitation, care/case management and, where applicable, family reunification services.

PCA Program OSCIL’s Personal Care Attendant (PCA) program provides an alternative for persons with disability who are at risk of nursing home placement and in need of personal care attendant services, but are unable to access the traditional RI Medicaid Assistant Program. Eligible participants must be unable to acquire these services through other PCA programs and meet this criteria: they are significantly physically disabled assessed as needing services in order to maintain independence are capable of managing their attendants found to be eligible by all other program guidelines. This program is designed to allow consumers maintain their independence within their home.

Higher Ground International is a forward thinking and culturally grounded inter-generational social service NGO that advocates and provides programs for West African Immigrants, Refugees and Marginalized Communities in Rhode Island and Rural Villages in Liberia, West Africa. Located on the South side of Providence, Rhode Island, HGI's vibrant and welcoming RUKIYA CENTER provides members of the West African Immigrants and Refugees community with elder services (Sweetie Care, African Elders Enrichment Program), Soft skills pre-employment and workforce development, literacy classes for women, basic computer and design classes, therapeutic arts, cultural enrichment, advocacy, case management, immigration & citizenship classesand other wraparound services for youth and families. HGI’s for-profit arm, Broken Pieces International, engages adults, at-risk youth and other under-served populations in the design and manufacture of clothing and accessories that reflect the character and community of both HGI and the West African diaspora. This provides them with vital job training and economic opportunities, and the revenue generated supports HGI’s work in Liberia. This innovative model fosters important connections to the culture and history of the mother country for Liberians living abroad, and reinforces HGI’s mission to uplift communities through empowerment and self-sustainability.

Our Independent Living/Deaf Services Coordinator works one-on-one with consumers providing assistance in a variety of ways including: They teach consumers to advocate for themselves with tasks such as getting a sign language interpreter for appointments at doctor’s offices, hospitals, Social Security Offices, DHS offices, landlord’s offices etc; accessing community services, requesting reasonable accommodations and addressing general communication issues; provides services to obtain housing. Also provides assistance with bill/letter translation.

VNA of Care New England's physical therapists help patients restore movement and function, ease pain, and increase strength and mobility. Using a wide range of techniques, they work in the patient's home to evaluate and treat problems with moving, balance, strength, and conditioning. This may involve retraining skills that the patient had before an illness or teaching new skills such as using a walker or cane. The physical therapists will help develop an individualized exercise program to help patients achieve their goals. Physical therapists also focus on fall prevention and home safety to allow patients to remain at home, with each care plan designed with the patient’s unique home environment in mind. Our physical therapists help with: Injury and illness. Stroke. Neuromuscular diseases including Parkinson's. Brain injury. Surgery. Neurological diagnosis.

The Kosher Meals on Wheels program from Jewish Collaborative Services delivers nutritious kosher meals to homebound seniors and disabled individuals. Part of our kosher nutrition program, Kosher Meals on Wheels provides an essential safety net for hundreds of community members who might otherwise face malnutrition.

Occupational therapy is a rehabilitative service for people with mental, physical, developmental, or emotional impairments. OT restores or maintains a patient’s ability to perform tasks used in daily living. Our occupational therapists develop ways to modify or adapt activities so that people living with a mental or physical impairment can perform tasks as independently as possible.

Saint Elizabeth Adult Day Centers helps families keep their loved ones at home by providing a wide array of supportive services during the day within a secure and nurturing environment.

Amedisys Home Health in Warwick provides in-home health care for people recovering from injury or surgery as well as those trying to manage a chronic illness like heart disease or diabetes at home. Tall Ships America is a nonprofit organization focused on youth education, leadership development and the preservation of the maritime heritage of North America. In addition to organizing the TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE Series, Tall Ships America manages scholarship programs to make sail training experiences more affordable for young people, grant programs to assist crew of member vessels with the costs of professional development courses and licensing requirements and publishes SAIL TALL SHIPS! A Directory of Sail Training and Adventure at Sea. The Tall Ships Challenge Series of international sailing races, cruises, and maritime festivals is organized by Tall Ships America in cooperation with Great Lakes, Atlantic and Pacific Coast port cities in the United States and Canada. Tall ships are crewed by young people and adults engaged in sail training programs under the supervision of captains and professional crew members. Maritime festivals in each host port give visitors a chance to board the vessels, meet the crew and trainees, and experience the rich maritime heritage that these ships represent.
